The Religions of Manhattan maps the existing religious sites in Manhattan as of 2011. The sites have been extracted from the City's environment and presented in relation to the geography and each other. By tracing the relationship between the city and the religions it accommodates, the project reveals a world of diversity and tolerance. All these crossroads that have a religious site on each corner become a point of intersection of beliefs. They exist naturally, in peace, and in close proximity when constrained by the geography...

Each religious site is assigned a dot and positioned in the geography. At this level there is a separate mapping for each religion so they can be observed individually as well as compared in terms of location and density.

At present Manhattan is a host to Christian churches, Jewish synagogues, Muslim mosques, Buddhist temples, Taoist temples, Hindu temples and Sikh temples distributed unevenly across the City.

Each site has been assigned a hollow color coded circle which overlays the city and overlaps with the religious sites in its proximity. The density of the colors enables us to seemingly experience the city from the perspective of its religious sites - currently over one thousand.
